The newspaper, the magazines and the print adverstisement that exclusively covered the African-American community, now archived forever.
The Television
TV shows and commercials, whether successful or short-lived, were very important to the evolution of Blacks in entertainment. The Obsidian Collection will capture and archive much of the material that has been overlooked by many.
The Movies
Black cinema that dates back as early as the 1930s including the complete Oscar Micheaux Collection and the dramatic increase of Black films made in the 70s.
The Military
The participation of African-Americans in our nation's military and its conflicts are documented in various sources. Aggregating these stories to central sources are important.
Events & Eras
There are countless milestones marking the pain and progress of the African-American community. We will collect the data and images around these events and eras for all to review. These are the building blocks on which our futures will be built.
